Occupying the area bound by The Boulevard, Wamba Road, Wilfred Road and Cedric Street, this site is ideally located just 9km east of Melbourne’s CBD with frontages to Ivanhoe Park.

The highly sought after location is ideal for families with proximity to expansive parklands, Yarra River trails, Ivanhoe Grammar and a village retail precinct.

A planning permit application for the redevelopment of the site was lodged with Banyule City Council in September 2017.

The project is an exclusively residential development delivering a mix of apartments (2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments) and townhouses. Consistent with local planning controls, no building will be taller than three storeys.

Substantial setbacks from the street and neighbouring properties, high-quality design and the use of premium materials will ensure that the development complements and enhances the existing character of the area.

Designed by award-winning firm Architectus together with landscape architects, ASPECT studios, other features of the project include:

  • A new Village Green area for public use, including a pedestrian path between Cedric Street and The Boulevard
  • Retaining 7 existing significant trees and planting up to 200 new trees
  • A significant investment to upgrade an important drainage corridor that runs through the site.


Community Consultation

Comprehensive community consultation has been undertaken for JWLand’s Ivanhoe East project.

The first community workshops were held in early July 2017 to provide local residents with the opportunity to share their hopes for the site.

A follow-up information session was held in mid-August to provide community members with an update on the design concept and to advise the next steps in the planning application process.
